Scheduling Your First Appointment
Starting counseling can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to have everything figured out before your first appointment. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness—it’s a courageous step toward healing, growth, and changed lives. Here is what to expect as you set up your first appointment.
#1. Give Us A Call

The first step is to call our office. Have your insurance card ready. We will set up at date for your first appointment. Payment will be discussed at this time but won't be due until the time of service.

Scheduling is based on your availability and the therapist availability. We try our best to work with your schedule.
#2. Phone Screening
You will be asked to share why you are seeking counseling services.
We work with most individuals seeking services, however, we do not service those suffering from chronic mental illness, chronic substance abuse or have a history of violence. We are happy to refer those individuals to appropriate service providers.
We ask that you be honest in your answers to that we may place you with the therapist that can best meet your needs.
#3. A Bit of Paperwork
Prior to your first appointment you will be asked to complete a detailed background questionnaire, as completely as possible.
This allows your therapist to better understand your situation. We will send this questionnaire via a link to be filled out on your phone or computer. This paperwork must be filled out completely in order to see your therapist, otherwise we will have to reschedule your appointment.

#4. Your First Session
Your first session will be a time of getting to know your therapist and beginning a course of action to address the issue that brought you to counseling.

Remember that counseling is a process. No one walks out of their first appointment "fixed". Follow up sessions will help you work through your particular challenges as you pursue healing, growth and change.
